Grief and Bereavement Support Services

Grief and Bereavement Support Services

Grief has no time limit or expiry date. We are here for you whenever you need us.

Losing someone close to you can be very dark and lonely, but you do not have to walk this journey alone. At Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home we believe that the needs of family members continue long after the funeral. We are very pleased to offer to our community Grief and Bereavement Support Services at NO COST. One-on-one grief support is available as well as grief support groups and an extensive lending library. Grieving is a normal and natural response to the death of a loved one, and one’s grief journey is as unique as the person grieving. Sadly, today’s society has come to believe that grief is something to “get over”. At Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, we offer you a safe, supportive, and confidential place for you to talk about your grief and help you find ways to navigate your grief journey.

Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home has collaborated with our local “Surviving Suicide Grief Support Group” providing them with a safe place to meet. This support group is for anyone in our community who is grieving the loss of a loved one by suicide. They meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday monthly at Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home. This group is peer lead by people who have been touched by the death of a loved one by suicide. They are trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (Asist), SafeTALK, and Grief and Bereavement. This group reminds people that they are not alone. It is a safe, confidential atmosphere where people can come and share and talk about their feelings and emotions and share coping skills.

To find out more about these programs please call the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home to speak with Nicole.

“You don't get over it, you just get through it,
You don't get by it because you can't get around it,
It doesn't get better it just gets different...
       Every day....
Grief puts on a new face.” (Wendy Feireisen)
