SHERMAN – Suddenly of a heart attack while in New Jersey on Thursday, December 31, 2009, Keith MacCallum Sherman of Woodstock, at the age of 73. Predeceased by his parents Greta and James Sherman. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Meloche) for 47 years. Dear father of Lana Sherman and her husband Fred King of New Jersey. Loving Grandpa of six year old Thomas. Brother of Myrna Smith (Roger) of Owen Sound and uncle of Derek Smith (Mary) of Owen Sound, David Smith (Sara) of Toronto, and Michael Smith (Mary-Ann) of Cambridge. Keith was an accomplished violinist in his hometown of Owen Sound and performed at Massey Hall in Toronto. He had a life-long love of curling from the Ontario School Boy Championships to skipping many rinks to organizing and sponsoring bonspiels. Keith managed Woolworth’s stores, including the Woodstock store, for 30 years, followed by 25 years as a Real Estate Broker with Century 21. He was a Past President of the Woodstock Curling Club, the Woodstock and District Chamber of Commerce, the Oxford Golf and Country Club at Craigowan, and the Rotary Club of Woodstock-Oxford.
A memorial reception will be held at the Oxford Golf and Country Club at Craigowan, 595838 Highway 59 North, Woodstock on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Please RSVP to kshermanmemorial@yahoo.com
A graveside service will take place in Owen Sound at St. Mary's Cemetery on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow at St. Mary's Church Hall from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Please RSVP to shermanmemorialowensound@yahoo.com
